My qualifications, training and voluntary work

I am a fully qualified and BACP-registered practitioner with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. My
principal modality is Person-Centred Therapy and I draw on other Humanistic theory and models to
enhance my practice. I also hold a degree in Post-16 Education and Training (BA Hons) and have
many years of experience teaching and supporting adult learners of all ages and abilities.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which gives an
assurance that my work adheres to their ethical framework. I hold professional indemnity insurance
and I am DBS checked.

In addition to my Private Practice, I work as an Associate Counsellor at Time to Listen, a specialist counselling service based in Hull. Time to Listen offers therapeutic support to children, young people and adults. Their service is rooted in attachment and trauma-informed approaches, providing a safe, supportive space for clients to explore their experiences. Time to Listen is known for its compassionate, client-centred ethos and for working closely with families, schools and professionals to support emotional wellbeing and mental health.

Additional training and experience

Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP)

I’ve completed training in DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy), an approach that supports people who’ve experienced early relational trauma. It’s especially helpful for parents and carers who want to strengthen their relationship and connection with their child. Using the PACE approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy), it helps create safety, build trust and make sense of challenging behaviours and big emotions.

TA101 Certificate (Transactional Analysis)

TA101 is an internationally recognised introduction to Transactional Analysis, exploring communication
patterns, relationship dynamics and the ways we relate to ourselves and others. This training has
deepened my understanding of client behaviour and supports my work in helping people make
meaningful change.

Voluntary work

I am a volunteer counsellor and facilitator for online community, The Motherless MothersI’ve developed and delivered a workshop supporting women navigating the impact of maternal estrangement. Working alongside this incredible community continues to shape my understanding of grief, identity and the emotional complexity that can come with becoming, or being, a mother without the presence of your own mum.
